Hurricane Milton – Advisory #2

With this notification, Colonial Terminals is advising that we are monitoring conditions due to the approach of Hurricane Milton. This storm is currently a Category 4 hurricane, with potential to develop into a Category 5, when it makes landfall on the west coast of the Florida peninsula. The current forecast from the National Hurricane Center is below. We are monitoring conditions but do not anticipate modifying our operations currently. If this status changes, you will be notified under this same format.
It is important to note that we are not experiencing any impacts to vessel, rail, or truck operations at this time. Should this change, you will be informed through these advisories that will be issued daily until the threat passes.

Vessel Operations
No current impact, however, during the 11:30AM ET Hazardous Weather Advisory Group (HWAG) call, the U.S. Coast Guard is expected to set Port Condition Whiskey at 2:00PM today for the Port of Savannah. This requires all vessels to declare their hurricane contingency plans for USCG approval. This condition means gale force winds are expected to arrive at the port within 72 hours. The port remains open to all commercial traffic, but oceangoing ships and barges must report their intention to remain in port or depart. If they are departing, they must do so within 12 hours of gale-force winds.
