Tropical Storm Idalia Advisory #2

Colonial Terminals continues to make hurricane preparations. We are currently experiencing impacts to vessel arrivals in Savannah because of the likely port closure, but vessel, rail, and truck operations are continuing as normal at this time. Should this change, you will be informed through these advisories that will be issued daily until the threat of Tropical Storm Idalia passes.

We deeply value our customers and take great pride in the continuity of our service. Colonial Terminals will make every effort to avoid or mitigate any impacts to your operations as long as we can safely do so.

Vessel Operations

During the 2:00PM ET Hazardous Weather Advisory Group (HWAG) meeting, the U.S. Coast Guard set Port Condition X-Ray for the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick. This condition means gale force winds are expected within 48 hours. The port remains open to all commercial traffic, but oceangoing ships and barges must report their intention to remain in port or depart. If they are departing, they must do so within 12 hours of gale-force winds. Because gale force winds are expected as early as Wednesday morning, vessel traffic is currently being impacted.

Vessels will not be allowed to berth if they cannot ensure departure before 18:00 on Tuesday.
